It's SHOWTIME! ...In five, four, three...

It's almost that time, Kiddies!
The Twentieth Anniversary Of Walt Disney World's
Fifteenth Birthday is
a scant TEN DAYS away. So the
time has come (the walrus said) to get
out those Blackberries,
Palm Pilots, Day Runners, iCals, Outlook
Expresses,
scraps of paper, bar napkins, or whatever else you
might
use to keep your failing memory from inviting
disaster into your life,
and put the schedule of our little
Hollywood East Reunion in writing
so you don't forget!
What follows is a rundown of the activities we've

got planned. You may follow it to the letter like a
true Unit
Production Manager, or you may pull a
"Peter Israelson" and totally
disregard it:

Thursday, May 4th
Blast From The Past
5:00 PM 'til ???
Wha? That's right! We've added a new event to the mix,
in the form of
a nostalgic after-work get-together at
WDW's infamous 70's nightspot:
"The Giraffe Lounge"!
They've brought it back to the Royal Plaza in

Lake Buena Vista, so if you are in town Thursday night,
stop by, grab
a beer, and help us start coming up with
the running jokes we'll be repeating all weekend.

Friday, May 5th
Check in at the Thunderbird (or nearby hotel)
3:00 PM 'til ???
We've decided that TAOWDWFBR is too awkward to
remember, especially
after six or so rum runners. So
to make it easier for everyone, and no
matter where
you're staying, check with the Thunderbird front desk for

updates on "Friends of Stu" activities. After you check in,
meet at
Thunderbird pool bar to socialize, sip and
celebrate Cinco de Mayo
during our very own "Lost
Shaker Assault"! (You can buy drinks at the
tiki bar or
discretely whip up your own concoctions in your room.)

Hungry? - Head to "Sloppy Joe's" or some other nearby
beach cafe (all
within walking distance) or if you are
daring enough and come with
enough verve -- play
Iron Chef by cooking your own grub on the outdoor

barbeque grill out in back of The Best Western Hotel
next door. (J.R.
will NOT be operating the grill. Let's
be clear about that right now.)

All Day Saturday, May 6th
Hang out poolside or on the beach. Venture to the
Fun Center Arcade
across the street or zip over to a
zany mini golf course to relive The
Elmo! We are
saving the particulars as to how this gets "organized"

until the beach-bound group has a chance to caucus.
Great minds under
chemical influence should produce
splendid -- if predictable --
results!

Saturday Dinner - Tired of looking at us already? That's
okay! Feel
free to dine on your own. Or, if you can't
get enough of us repeating
the same stories over and
over and over, we'll be meeting for an early
supper at
the Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks Beach. Oh, nobody is

buying your food for you by the way. And J.R. will
once again NOT be
operating the grill.

Late Saturday, May 6th
Pool Bar at the Thunderbird
??? 'til ???
We'll try to get back after an early dinner at the Salt
Rock Grill in
time to watch the sun slowly sink into the
Gulf. Is it true that there
is a slight flash of green light
at sunset as the sun moves below the
surface of the
water? Beats me. But we'll have a chance to observe the
phenomenon first-hand. No expense is spared! Oh,
speaking of: you'll
be buying your own drinks, unless
you undo that top button and wink
once or twice at
the old guy parked at the bar since February. He's
good
for a margarita or two. He can show you his scar, too!

Sunday Morning, May 7th
Roll out of bed to check out by 11:00 AM. Then,
cruise back to Orlando
for a picnic and swimming
at Turkey Lake Park. Remember to bring your
swimsuit...
the sun will be out so there's no convenient cover of

darkness. And some of us have kids. Sunscreen is advised
as well, but
for different reasons entirely. There will
be lots o' grills all over
where our pavilion is reserved,
but don't expect J.R. to be standing
near one. As to
follow the theme of the entire weekend, the picnic
is
also B.Y.O.E. ("Bring Your Own Everything"). If you
think it would be
perfect... bring it, Yosef! And Orange
County's way of running the
velvet rope for our party is
to charge $4 per car at the gate. But
they'll cut you a
break and only charge you $2 if you arrive solo. (No

fair hiding your significant other in the trunk!)

Since our PayPal effort was a dismal failure (but
thanks, Amy!), we
are still accepting donations to help
cover the cost of the pavilion
rental at Turkey Leg Park.
We'll even accept any extra cash you have
on you the day
of the event. We're easy that way. And you don't want

to jump in the water with all that change in your pockets,
right? See
how considerate we are?

Okay. This is supposed to be the last message we are
sending out to
everyone, so if you miss the whole thing
after this, you have no one
to blame but yourself. If any
of you are still talking to one another,
go ahead and remind
them too in case they changed their email address
and
have missed these pesky periodic notes since February. And
the
blog site is still up and active! We honestly don't NEED
to know if
you are coming to the beach or to the picnic or
both, but dang it, we
are curious as can be about who we'll
be running into. Click on the
"COMMENT" button, sign up if
you haven't already, and put in your two
cents adjusted for
twenty years of inflation. Time is running out!
We're down
to our LAST TEN DAYS! Aaah!

See you on Treasure Island!

April 5-7 Expedition Everest Grand Opening

A new mountain has been added to the Florida landscape thanks to Walt Disney World. Expedition Everest is a new thrill attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Press release description:

Now at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World guests can discover for themselves the fearsome lore of the yeti aboard out-of-control railcars that race forward and backward, sending adventurers swooping into the unknown to brave twists, turns and drops inside and outside a mighty mountain. It all leads to an unforgettable encounter.

Last week WDW had a press event to open Expedition Everest (imagine that). Several folks we know were involved with the event & I was fortunate to borrow a camera to share some of them with you.
Enjoy!
